Gundry MD Phyto Collagen Complex is a real, ready-to-mix powder sold by Gundry MD, and it is not a collagen supplement: the seller says it contains no collagen. Each scoop gives you vitamin C, biotin, a fermented amino acid blend called Vollagen, a fruit polyphenol blend, baobab fruit powder and bamboo powder. The seller promises smoother skin and more limber joints, but its page names no study behind those promises, so read the label and the refund terms below before you order.

What is in a scoop of Phyto Collagen Complex?
The seller's supplement facts panel lists these ingredients. The right-hand column is what the seller says each one does.
| Ingredient | Per scoop | What the seller says it does |
|---|---|---|
| Vitamin C (from ascorbic acid and acerola fruit extract) | 150 mg (167% DV) | Called a "crucial cofactor for collagen production" that helps your body start making collagen from amino acids |
| Biotin (from Sesbania grandiflora) | 100 mcg (333% DV) | The product page gives no role for it |
| Organic baobab fruit powder (as Fibers™) | 1,400 mg | The product page gives no role for it. It supplies the dietary fiber on the label (under 1 g) |
| Vollagen® Complex (fermented amino acid complex) | 1,000 mg | "Provides all 18 amino acids you need to make collagen" in a fully broken-down form your body can absorb |
| Polyphenol fruit blend: acerola fruit extract, organic maqui berry, tart cherry powder, jabuticaba juice powder (JabuVital®) | 575 mg | Described as an antioxidant "shield" that protects you and your collagen from oxidative damage |
| Bamboo powder | 130 mg | The product page gives no role for it |
The 18 amino acids named inside Vollagen are glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, glutamic acid, alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, lysine, serine, leucine, valine, phenylalanine, threonine, isoleucine, histidine, tyrosine, methionine and hydroxylysine. The label gives one combined weight for the blend, not the amount of each amino acid. That means you cannot check the seller's "exact ratio" claim from the label.
The other ingredients are natural flavor, citric acid, natural color (beet juice) and fermented rebaudioside-M. The page does not say what the rebaudioside-M does. The seller also says the product has no sugar and no artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners. If you avoid sweeteners of any kind, ask support what the rebaudioside-M is before you order.
One scoop also gives 15 calories, 2 g total carbohydrate, 0 g total sugars (0 g added sugars) and less than 1 g protein. The seller calls the product vegan, keto-friendly and BPA free.
If it is not collagen, what is a "phyto collagen" powder?
Gundry MD's FAQ says it plainly: "this is not a ‘collagen supplement' because it doesn't contain collagen itself." The idea is to give your body the raw materials (amino acids), a vitamin C source that the seller says helps assemble collagen, and plant polyphenols the seller says protect collagen from damage. The seller describes the whole formula as a way to "re-fortify" your body.
That difference matters in two ways. First, the usual concerns about animal-sourced collagen are not the starting point here, though the label does not name the source of the fermented amino acids. If you have a food or animal-source allergy, ask support what the Vollagen is fermented from, and read our guide to collagen allergen sourcing and cross-reactivity. Second, this powder contains biotin but no collagen, so if you are weighing it against other options, our comparison of collagen, biotin and keratin and our page on collagen peptides show how real collagen products differ.
Does Phyto Collagen Complex really work, and what is it good for?
Gundry MD says collagen-supporting ingredients help you "look and feel younger." Each of these claims on the page carries the standard dagger and asterisk marks for statements the FDA has not evaluated:
- A stronger, more solid feeling throughout your body
- Joints that feel freer and more limber
- Younger-looking skin that feels firmer and healthier
- The ability to pick up old habits you had not felt up to in a long time
- Feeling more confident and comfortable in your own body
The seller's own terms add that its products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. The page also says "Clinically studied ingredient" and "Potent Science Backed Key Ingredients," but it does not name a study, a dose or which ingredient was studied. Ask Gundry MD customer care for those citations. When they send them, our guide to ingredient evidence versus marketing claims helps you judge them, and our explainer on collagen research on skin, joints and bone shows what studies of collagen products have measured.
What are the signs it is working?
The seller's FAQ gives its own timeline. It says most users report feeling stronger and more limber in the first week, and often notice softer, more supple skin within two weeks. It says "the most dramatic results" come after consistent use for 4 weeks and beyond, and asks you to use it as directed. The seller does not say how many users this describes or how they were asked. Treat it as the seller's expectation, not a measured result, and keep a simple note of how your joints and skin feel before you start so you can judge for yourself.
Are there side effects, and who should check first?
The product page lists no side effects, interactions or groups who should avoid it. That is not the same as saying none exist. Gundry MD's terms tell you to discuss any medications or supplements you take with a healthcare provider before using a new supplement. Dr. Gundry's FAQ also recommends consulting your own health care provider before beginning any new program.
Take the label to your clinician or pharmacist. Ask them to check the amounts (vitamin C 150 mg, biotin 100 mcg) and the fruit and plant powders against your medications, your conditions and any allergies. Your clinician is the right person to say whether this fits you. Do not start, stop or change a medication based on this page. Of the seller's pages, only the label shows what is in the jar, and it is also what you should compare against the jar you receive.
What about collagen downsides, foods to avoid, what depletes collagen and foods high in collagen?
Gundry MD's product page does not give a list of foods or drinks to avoid while taking this powder. The one thing the seller says about collagen loss is that its polyphenol blend helps protect collagen from oxidative damage, which is a marketing statement rather than a full answer. The page also does not name foods that are high in collagen. For those general food questions, ask your clinician or a registered dietitian. For anything about this specific powder, call or email Gundry MD support.
What do reviews, before-and-after photos and Reddit say?
Testimonials on a seller's page or in an ad are chosen by the seller. Gundry MD's terms say that anything you submit, including testimonials, photos and your name or city, can be used in its advertising without further permission or payment. The seller's page also shows a "BBB A+ Review" badge. To judge the product by customer experience, check the Better Business Bureau listing yourself, and read reviews on independent sites and forums where the company does not control what is posted. Look for how people describe results after four weeks or more, and for complaints about refunds and billing.
How much does it cost?
Prices as of October 1, 2026 on the seller's page; check the checkout for today's. The seller says it can change prices at any time.
| Package | Price | Crossed-out price | Savings shown | Roughly per jar |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 jar (30 servings) | $49.95 | $79.95 | $30.00 | $49.95 |
| 3 jars | $134.85 | $215.85 | $81.00 | $44.95 |
| 6 jars | $251.70 | $407.70 | $156.00 | $41.95 |
One jar works out to about $1.67 per daily serving. The seller offers free U.S. shipping over $60, so a single jar at $49.95 falls below that line and shipping will likely be added. Sales tax is added where required. You can see the current offer on the seller's Product Page.
How do the 90-day guarantee, returns and cancellation work?
The product page and FAQ promise that if you are not happy for any reason within 90 days, the team will set up a hassle-free refund of your purchase price, minus shipping. The seller's terms add what that means in practice:
- The 90 days start the day your order ships, not the day it arrives.
- You must send the product back to get a refund. Contact customer care or use the online return form to get a return authorization number (RA #) and shipping instructions.
- Put the RA # in the box. Shipments without one are not refunded and are destroyed.
- You pay the return shipping, and the seller says it will not reimburse that under any circumstances.
- The refund is processed once the product arrives at the seller's shipping facility.
- Only products bought directly from the seller's website qualify. Products from unauthorized third parties or other merchants are not refunded.
So the FAQ's "hassle-free" still means you box up the jar, ship it back at your own cost and wait for it to arrive. Start the return well before day 90.
Gundry MD says some products are available as subscriptions that bill about every 30 days. The terms say a subscription continues unless you cancel, with no minimum purchase and no early cancellation fees. You can change or cancel through your account, by phone or by email. Before you pay, check whether your checkout is a one-time purchase or a subscription.
Support is at 1-800-852-0477 or support@gundrymd.com, Monday to Friday 6 AM to 5 PM Pacific and Saturday and Sunday 6 AM to 4 PM Pacific. The seller ships to U.S. addresses and some other countries; if you order from outside the U.S., you are responsible for duties, taxes and customs.
Can you trust the seller's quality claims?
Gundry MD says the powder is made in a GMP-certified facility in the USA with domestic and imported parts, is third-party lab tested, and is free of titanium dioxide, talc, binders, hydrogenated oil and carrageenan. It says every formula gets nutrient-content, organoleptic and microbiology tests, and that what is on the label is what is in the jar. The page does not name the lab or publish results, so ask support for a certificate of analysis for the batch you receive if this matters to you.
The seller is based in California and trades as Gundry MD. It lists a Los Angeles address in its legal notices. One term worth knowing before you buy: the terms contain a mandatory arbitration clause and a class action waiver. You can opt out by emailing support@gundrymd.com with the subject line "ARBITRATION OPT-OUT" within 30 days of 08/19/25 or your first use of the website, whichever is later. California residents can also contact the California Department of Consumer Affairs, whose phone numbers appear in the seller's terms.
Before you order
- Ask Gundry MD for the study citations behind "clinically studied ingredient."
- Ask what the Vollagen is fermented from and what the rebaudioside-M is, especially if you have allergies or avoid sweeteners.
- Ask for the third-party lab name and the test results for your batch.
- Show your clinician or pharmacist the full label and your medication list.
- Check the checkout screen for subscription enrollment and shipping charges.
- Buy directly from the seller's website if you want the 90-day refund, and put the return date on your calendar.
