Tracey Vincel PT MPhty spends two weeks in Beijing with The United States Tennis Team. 10 tennis athletes participated in the 2008 Olympic Games. U.S. women featured three former gold medalists Venus Williams, Serena Williams and Lindsay Davenport as well as world’s No. 1 doubles player Liezel Huber and late addition Jill Craybas. James Blake, Sam Querrey and Robby Ginepri lead the men’s team with world No. 1 Doubles Team Bob and Mike Bryan.
Working alongside some of the best physicians, Tracey helped keep the athletes healthy and pain free. Before and after matches, the athletes would work with Tracey to improve their flexibility and join mobility for optimal performance.
Venus & Serna Williams won the double’s gold medal 6-2, 6-0 over Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual. They Bryan twins claimed the bronze after rallying from a first set loss to beat Mickael Llodra and Arnaud Clement of France 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
This is not the first time a KIMA therapist has participated in the Olympic Games. Patricia Ladis, PT was the Physical Therapist for the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.
