At the USOC headquarters in Colorado Springs, Patricia Ladis, PT, performs injury prevention screenings and performance evaluations (KIMA Sport Prevention Screen) for the USTA’s best junior players. The 17 players were evaluated in a series of functional, orthopedic and motor control tests. Their on-court tennis biomechanics were analyzed as well. The information and suggestions gained from these screens will enable the strength and conditioning coaches to improve the performance of each individual player. In addition to the assessment, players are provided a series of specific therapeutic exercises to increase their flexibility, strength, power and spinal and joint stability to prevent injuries for their upcoming careers in professional tennis.
