KIMA is diligently monitoring reports from the CDC to ensure we have the most updated information related to protocols, initiatives and recommendations, and that we are prepared to respond quickly and effectively to keep you and our employees safe. See below for our heightened safety guidelines.

KIMA HEIGHTENED SAFETY GUIDELINES

We want to make sure all our patients know that KIMA physical therapists are available for essential in-person appointments. Pilates instructors continue to be available for virtual sessions.  It’s understandable that there might be concern about coming to physical therapy in- person right now. Rest assured that we have put in place strict safety procedures to protect our patients.

FAQ about In-Person Appointments

We are open Monday through Friday and caring for our patients with essential healthcare needs. We are operating with limited remote administrative staff and limited therapists in the office.  We have one therapist in the space at one time. We have 3 physical therapists (Patricia, Tracey and Stephen) available to see patients. As other PTs plan to return to the office we will reach out and let you know.   If you are wanting in-person visits, please contact info@kimawellness.com or 212-686-3101.

Here’s what we are doing to keep our patients healthy during their visit:

All providers and staff wear masks and other appropriate protective equipment like gloves.

All staff will continue to wash hands frequently.

All patients are screened for COVID-19 symptoms (dry cough, sore throat, flu-like symptoms, headache, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of smell or taste, or have purple/blue lesions on feet/toes) before arriving for their visit.

All providers, staff, and patients are also screened for COVID-19 symptoms at the practice entrance and given a temperature check with a “no-touch” thermometer.

All patients are required to wear a mask or face covering.

Social distancing measures will be enforced. Only 2 people are allowed in the elevator at one time.

We ask that you arrive as close to time of visit to go straight to a private treatment room.

Our rooms are cleaned and sanitized throughout the day.

Equipment in main gym & Pilates area have been moved to support appropriate distancing measures

Yes! Video Telehealth sessions are still a good option for our patients who prefer to have a virtual visit, or who may not require hands-on treatments. If you aren’t sure whether you need an in-office visit or a video visit, you can contact our front desk at info@kimawellness.com.

We are offering video visits to patients who are new to KIMA. The initial evaluation involves a subjective history and testing of ROM and other movements. Your physical therapist can guide you through these movements and determine your diagnosis and treatment plan over video.

GUIDELINES FOR PREVENTION AND SAFETY

  • Wash hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or into your sleeve.
  • Sleep at least 8 hrs per night
  • Frequent exercise is an important way to strengthen and maintain a healthy immune system
  • Supplement with Vit D w/ K3 and 1000mg Vitamin C, or to bowel tolerance, preventatively
  • Consider greeting others verbally instead of physical contact
  • Use sanitizer or “on guard” essential oil when in public areas when lavatories are not available.
  • Do not go to work if you have a fever or flu-like symptoms.
  • Stay at home and wear a mask in public if you are displaying any of the known symptoms.

We are dedicated to your health and safety. All current evidence indicates that those who are in good health, and with uncompromised immune systems, are at very low risk.
